Site audit

Website SEO Audit

Enter a domain to crawl the whole site, the way a search engine does. Every page is checked for broken links, redirects, missing tags, duplicate content and indexing problems, and every issue comes with how to fix it.

What the site audit checks

The audit starts at your homepage and follows every internal link, then adds the URLs in your XML sitemap, the same way Googlebot discovers a site. Each page is read as served, before JavaScript runs, and checked for:

AreaWhat is checked
Crawling404 and 5xx pages, broken internal links, redirect chains and loops, temporary redirects, links that point at redirects, pages blocked by robots.txt, slow responses
IndexingNoindex tags and X-Robots-Tag headers, canonical tags (missing, conflicting or pointing at a broken URL), non-indexable URLs in the sitemap, orphan pages
On-pageMissing, long, short and duplicate titles and meta descriptions, missing or multiple H1s, low word count, images without alt text, empty link text
TechnicalHTTPS and mixed content, viewport and language tags, invalid JSON-LD structured data, hreflang codes and return links, meta refresh, page size, click depth, URL format, Open Graph tags
Site-wideHTTP to HTTPS redirect, www and non-www pointing to one host, robots.txt, XML sitemap, and whether missing pages really return 404

How to run a website SEO audit

  1. Enter your domain, for example example.com, choose how many pages to crawl, and press Audit site.
  2. Start with Errors: broken pages and links, server errors and missing titles do the most damage.
  3. Open any issue to see why it matters, how to fix it and every URL affected. The Pages view shows the same findings page by page.
  4. Export the issues CSV to share with a developer or work through in a spreadsheet, then run the audit again to confirm the fixes.

Errors, warnings and notices

The health score is the share of crawled pages without errors or warnings. A page with warnings but no errors counts as half.

Questions

Is the SEO audit really free?

Yes. Up to 1,000 pages per audit, as often as you like, with no sign-up. The URLs you audit are not stored.

Why did it crawl fewer pages than my site has?

The crawl follows links from the homepage and adds URLs from your sitemap, up to the page limit you chose. Pages that nothing links to and that aren't in the sitemap can't be found by any crawler, including Google's. Images, PDFs and other files are not crawled.

Does it run JavaScript?

No. Pages are checked as the server sends them, which is what search engines see first. If your content only appears after JavaScript runs, pages may show a low word count or missing tags here; server-side rendering fixes both.

Does it respect robots.txt?

Yes. URLs your robots.txt blocks for Googlebot are reported but not fetched, and requests are made a few at a time, so the crawl doesn't put load on your server.

Are external links checked?

No, only links within your own site. To check outbound links, export them and run them through the Bulk HTTP Status Code Checker.

How is this different from Google Search Console?

Search Console reports what Google has already crawled and indexed, often days later. This audit checks the live site now, so you can find and fix problems before Google does. Use both: Search Console for index coverage and search data, an audit for finding what to fix.
