About this tool

The preview image, the size, and the tags in one place

When a link is shared, the platform reads the page’s Open Graph tags and builds a card from them. If the image is the wrong shape it gets cropped badly; if it is too heavy WhatsApp skips it; if the tags are missing the platform guesses. This crops your image to the 1.91:1 shape every platform uses, shows how each one lays out the card, encodes the download at a size you can see, and writes the tags to paste into your page.

Framed by you

Drag to choose what stays in the frame and zoom to taste, or fit the whole image on a background colour. A square guide shows what platforms that crop square will keep.

Four previews

Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Slack each lay a link card out differently. See all four before anyone else does.

Tags written for you

og:title, og:description, og:image with its size and alt text, and the Twitter card tags — escaped and ready to paste.

Tips for the best results

  • Keep text away from the edgesSome platforms crop the card to a square. Put the logo and any words inside the centre guide.
  • Stay under 300 KBWhatsApp and some messengers skip previews for heavy images. JPEG at quality 80 usually lands well under.
  • One image per pageA distinct card per page gets more clicks than the same logo on every link.
  • Refresh the cachePlatforms cache cards. After changing the image, re-scrape the URL in Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector.

Questions

Questions about this tool

Everything here runs in your browser — nothing you add is uploaded. More in the general FAQ.

What size should an Open Graph image be?

1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio. Facebook, LinkedIn, X (with summary_large_image), Slack and most messengers use that shape. Keep the file under about 300 KB so WhatsApp shows it, and under 5 MB for X.

Which meta tags do I need for a link preview?

og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url cover Facebook, LinkedIn and most apps; add og:image:width, og:image:height and og:image:alt so platforms can lay the card out before downloading the image. X reads the Open Graph tags too, but needs twitter:card set to summary_large_image to show the large card.

Why is my link preview not updating?

Platforms cache the card the first time a URL is shared. Update the tags and image, then ask each platform to re-read the page: Facebook’s Sharing Debugger, LinkedIn’s Post Inspector, or simply wait — X refreshes within about a week.

Should the image URL be absolute?

Yes. og:image must be a full URL including https://, and it must be publicly reachable — platforms fetch it from their own servers.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Cropping, previewing and encoding happen on a canvas in your browser. You upload the finished image to your own site yourself.
