DNS Lookup

Look up every common DNS record for a domain in one go: where it points, who handles its email, which name servers hold it, and its TXT records. SPF, DMARC, CAA and DNSSEC are checked and explained.

Why DNS matters for SEO

DNS problems look like downtime to search engines. If Googlebot can't resolve your domain, it can't crawl it, and pages that stay unreachable are eventually dropped. After moving hosts, check that the A and AAAA records point to the new server, and that both the bare domain and www resolve. Search Console's domain verification also uses a TXT record, which this lookup shows.

Questions

Why don't I see my new DNS record yet?

Resolvers cache answers for the record's TTL (time to live). If the old record had a TTL of one day, some networks keep the old answer for up to a day after you change it. This tool asks Cloudflare's public resolver, which may already have the new answer before your own network does.

What are SPF and DMARC?

Email authentication. SPF lists which servers may send mail for your domain; DMARC tells receiving servers what to do with mail that fails the check, and where to send reports. Gmail and Yahoo require both from bulk senders, and they stop scammers sending email as your domain.

Can I look up a subdomain?

Yes, enter it as it is, for example shop.example.com. Subdomains often have only a CNAME record pointing at the service that hosts them.

Who owns a domain?

DNS doesn't say. Registration details are in the registry's records; the Domain Age Checker shows the registrar, the registration date and when it expires.
