How to add the code to your page

  1. Copy the code, including the <script type="application/ld+json"> tags.
  2. Paste it into the page's HTML, in the <head> or anywhere in the <body>. Google reads it in either place.
  3. Make it match the page. Google requires structured data to describe content visitors can see. A price, rating or opening time that isn't on the page breaks its guidelines.
  4. Test it with the Schema Markup Validator, then with Google's Rich Results Test, and request indexing in Search Console.

On WordPress, a code snippets plugin or your theme's header settings can hold the script. On Shopify, add it to the theme template for that page type, using Liquid variables so every product gets its own values. Most SEO plugins already output Organization, WebSite, Article and BreadcrumbList markup, so check the page with the validator first to avoid two copies.

For what each type does and which rich results Google still shows, read Schema markup: what it is and how to add it.

Questions

Is JSON-LD better than microdata?

Google supports JSON-LD, microdata and RDFa, and recommends JSON-LD because it sits in one block, separate from the visible HTML, so it's easier to add and maintain. This generator writes JSON-LD only.

Does schema markup improve rankings?

Not directly. It helps search engines understand a page and makes it eligible for rich results, which can make a listing more useful and more likely to be clicked. Google decides whether to show a rich result; valid markup makes a page eligible, not guaranteed.

Can I add review stars to my product?

Only with real ratings from real customers that are shown on the page. The generator leaves ratings out unless you fill in both the average and the number of reviews, and warns you when you do. Invented or copied ratings break Google's spam policies.

Can I use several types on one page?

Yes. A product page can have Product and BreadcrumbList; a blog post can have BlogPosting and BreadcrumbList. Generate each one and paste both script blocks into the page.

Is anything I type sent to Imbuz?

No. The code is built in your browser, and testing it in the Schema Markup Validator happens in your browser too, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.
