What font is that?
Crop to a line of text, type what it says, and get the closest Google Fonts by shape — suggestions to check, not a guarantee.
Drag a box tightly around one line of text. Without a box, the whole image is used.
About this tool
Shape matching, honestly labelled
Identifying a font from a picture is hard, and this tool does not pretend otherwise. You crop the image to one line of text and type the words it shows; the tool renders those exact words in a library of popular Google Fonts, compares each rendering’s letter shapes with your image, and ranks the closest matches. It works best on clean, horizontal text set in a common typeface; it cannot recognise commercial fonts that are not in its library, so treat the results as suggestions to compare side by side.

Each suggestion is shown under your crop, with a similarity score, so you can judge by eye.
Image stays local

Questions
Questions about this tool
Everything here runs in your browser — nothing you add is uploaded. More in the general FAQ.
How accurate is the font identifier?
It is a best-effort tool. For clean text set in a popular Google Font, the right font is usually in the top few suggestions. Commercial fonts, heavily styled lettering, handwriting and photos at an angle are much harder, and it may only find something similar.
Why do I have to type the text?
So the tool can render exactly the same letters in every candidate font and compare like with like. Recognising the letters automatically would need a large download and add errors.
Which fonts can it find?
A library of popular Google Fonts. It cannot identify fonts outside that library, though it will suggest the closest-looking free alternatives.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is processed in your browser. Candidate fonts are fetched from Google Fonts to render them.
What should I do with the result?
Open the top suggestions in the font previewer, type the same text, and compare the distinctive letters.
